Practice Dr. Gross

Since its founding in January 2006, our practice for orthopedics and sports medicine Dr. Groß in Saarlouis has made a name for itself as a competent contact point for orthopedic and sports medicine treatments. Since January 2011, we have been welcoming you to our modern location in the Saarlouis Medical Center – a place where medical expertise meets a pleasant atmosphere.

Our focus is on the comprehensive treatment of orthopedic conditions, with a particular specialization in knee and shoulder joints, as well as sports medicine.

A particular focus of our work is the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of the shoulder joint. With more than 400 shoulder operations per year and over 4,000 shoulder patients annually, we are one of the leading specialists in this field – both regionally and nationally.

Our expertise: diverse diseases of the shoulder joint
The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the human body and at the same time particularly susceptible to a variety of diseases and injuries. We treat a wide range of shoulder conditions, including:

  • Calcific tendonitis (tendinosis calcarea): With more than 6,000 treatments of calcific tendonitis performed, we have developed particular expertise in this area. Our method of microinvasive, ultrasound-assisted calcium removal (needle lavage) offers an innovative and effective solution for many sufferers. This technique allows for targeted and gentle removal of calcium deposits – often without the need for surgery.

  • Rotator cuff tears:Injuries or degenerative damage to the rotator cuff often lead to pain and restricted mobility. We offer comprehensive diagnostics and treatment, ranging from physiotherapy approaches to minimally invasive surgery.

  • Impingement syndrome: Pinched tendons or bursae can cause severe pain. Our modern treatment concepts help to restore shoulder mobility.

  • Shoulder instabilities and dislocations: For instabilities and repeated dislocations of the shoulder (e.g., after a sports injury), we offer individually tailored treatment plans, including arthroscopic stabilization surgery.

  • Frozen shoulder: We treat this often long-lasting and painful condition with a holistic approach that combines conservative and surgical measures.

  • Osteoarthritis of the Shoulder joint: From medication and physiotherapy approaches to shoulder joint replacement – we accompany our patients with individual solutions through all stages of the disease.

Over 400 shoulder operations annually – experience that counts
Our surgical team has many years of experience and works with the most modern techniques. Whether arthroscopic procedures such as rotator cuff repair, shoulder stabilization or the removal of calcifications, or larger procedures such as the installation of shoulder prostheses – we guarantee the highest precision and quality.

Innovative Diagnostics and Therapy

The foundation of every successful treatment is precise diagnostics. Using state-of-the-art imaging, including high-resolution ultrasound and MRI, we can analyze shoulder disorders in detail. Our conservative and surgical treatment approaches are always at the cutting edge of medical research and technology.

Quality Assurance at the Highest Level

To continuously monitor and improve the quality of our treatments, we rely on comprehensive quality management. In addition to computer-supported treatment documentation, we participate in the Qualis and AMBU-KISS programs to ensure external quality assurance.
